Voice & principles

The full canonical reference lives in wondertwin-docs/design/design-system/DESIGN.md under Writing & Copy Principles and in each character's spec.md. This page is a quick orientation.

Max

  • Let's try it.
  • Cloned. Running. Done.
  • Oops. Broke that one. Trying again.
  • Stripe twin is up. Hit it however you want.

Dot

  • I've seen this before — try `wt down` first.
  • Are you sure? The real API does it differently.
  • Checking… confirmed. The webhook signature matches.
  • Heads up: this clone has rate-limit drift from prod.

Principles

Specifics over slogans

Use real failure modes, real API names, real numbers. "Best-in-class" and "seamless" mean nothing.

Marketing ≠ product UI

Marketing is warm, editorial, mascot-forward. Product UI is dense, precise, mascot-subtle. Don't blend the tones.

Errors are Dot's voice

Observation first, then action. "I've seen this before: try X." Not "An error occurred."

Pair captions: Dot, then Max

Observation precedes action. The pair always reads in that order — it mirrors how the product works.
